What Does Acupuncture Feel Like?
One of the most common questions we hear is, "Will it hurt?"

The answer is: most people are pleasantly surprised.

Acupuncture needles are incredibly thin—about the width of a human hair—and are very different from the needles used for injections or blood draws. While you may occasionally feel a brief pinch as a needle is inserted, most people feel little to no discomfort.

As your treatment begins, you may notice sensations such as warmth, heaviness, tingling, or a gentle dull ache around a point. These are normal responses and often indicate that your body is responding to the treatment.

Most clients find acupuncture deeply relaxing. It's common to drift into a light sleep or enter a peaceful, meditative state during treatment. Many people leave feeling calmer, lighter, and more balanced than when they arrived.

"Most clients are surprised by how deeply relaxing acupuncture feels."

How Many Treatments Will I Need?
Because every person is unique, there isn't a one-size-fits-all answer.

Some people experience noticeable improvement after their first treatment, while others see the greatest benefit from a series of visits. The number of treatments recommended depends on your individual health concerns, how long they've been present, and your wellness goals.

Generally speaking:

• Acute concerns, such as recent injuries, headaches, or muscle tension, often respond more quickly.

• Chronic or long-standing conditions usually improve gradually with consistent care.

• Many clients also choose acupuncture as part of their ongoing wellness routine to help manage stress, improve sleep, support recovery, and maintain overall well-being.

After your first visit, your practitioner will discuss their recommendations and work with you to create a treatment plan that feels right for you.

Our goal isn't simply to treat symptoms—it's to support your body's natural ability to heal while helping you feel your very best.
